Greetings to all!
We just completed our Annual
Fall Conference November 3-5 in Houston, TX.
Kudos to the Houston Alumni Chapter, under the leadership of Meca
Walker, for their hard work in planning and orchestrating a successful conference. They showed us why they are “Chapter of the
Year”.
A few highlights and
updates:
- Welcome the Class of 2005 graduates who are now
members of the National Alumni Association. For the first time in the school’s history, the University
included their alumni dues in the graduation fees. Many thanks to Dr. Isabella Jenkins for
making this a reality. A newly
developed Membership Handbook will be given to each graduate along with
their membership card.
- For
the first time in the history of CAUAA, we have over 1000 members! It was reported that we had 1,367
members and the number keeps growing.
If you have not joined…get on board!
- We now have 20 Life Members. I issued a challenge for us to have 50
by May Weekend when they will receive special recognition. Should you like to be included among
this distinguished group of alumni, you may send your check for $1000 made
payable to CAUAA, Inc. to 223 James P. Brawley Drive, SW, Campus Box 1913,
Atlanta, GA 30314.
- We have a new website – www.cauaa.org. We are still building, but go online and check it out. Your feedback is appreciated. You will be able to pay your dues,
register for conferences, make contributions to CAU, and purchase CAUAA merchandise
all with the click of a button. If
you missed an event – view our photo gallery.
- All financial members as of December 1st
will receive nomination guidelines for next year’s election. Membership applications are available
on our website.
